Spiritual Readings

What will you receive from a spiritual reading?
For over twenty years I have been giving personal readings, presenting the messages of the cards as compassionately as I can. I believe it is a gift to be able to communicate with people at a metaphysical level, and sharing a reading with someone almost always has a healing and releasing effect and so it is very rewarding too. There is often a deep exchange between the person doing the reading and the questioner, a recognition of our profoundly universal connection as embodied beings on this earth plane.

There is no one right way to read Tarot cards because the interaction between the questioner (you) and the cards is very much a part of a highly intuitive, even deeply meditative, process. The images and the messages from the cards are mirrored from our collective unconscious—the deepest, most creative and highly energized part of our psyche—and then recognized and translated by the reader so that the conscious mind can hear and understand their messages more clearly.

It is similar to taking an digital snapshot of your mostly-hidden psychic life and viewing it immediately. Only its language is richly symbolical, so the photograph will be made up of dream-like imagery. When one combines several of these "photographs" together into a reading, they make a story-line that shows us the flow from past to present and into potential future. This allows us to realize the relationships between our actions, emotions and thought patterns and their outcomes. We can make better choices!

Many times we come to a reading distressed, suffering, confused and in fear of some outcome. What we learn about our life's path and individual place upon that path at any one moment in time can be comforting, exhilarating, assuring, empowering.

I like to feel that a reading is a conversation on the deepest levels about a situation shared with someone who knows and loves you best of all. A reading reflects back to the questioner a static image of the energies and influences and life lesson at hand in this moment. Often a questioner receives an incredible "Aha!" moment of awareness, and a tricky or challenging siutation resolves itself into clarity and purpose.

So clarity and insight can be gained about issues the questioner may have, feelings may be validated, and general wisdom gained about a life's course. Many times a reading can prepare us for some difficulty that lies ahead. For many people, a Tarot reading will confirm a path they are on, and give them the confidence and assurance to step forward without fear.

What is involved in a Tarot reading?
Readings offer the questioner an opportunity to "see" and comprehend a map of the energies and infuences surrounding them at the moment.

The Tarot can be read with several different kinds of "decks" that have different ways of presenting symbolical information. I give personal readings using several spiritual and divination modalities including Tarot cards, the Osho Zen cards, Medicine cards and Gypsy cards.

There are also several different kinds of "spreads", or ways of laying out the cards: flying geese, traditional Celtic cross, and sometimes "yes/no" questions can be best answered with a full deck face-down layout. Questions involving higher-level soul issues can be dealt with by selecting just the Major Arcana cards.

What is involved in a Medicine Card reading?
Seeking your seven Totems with the Medicine Cards can give you a way to connect to the forces that have always been supporting and guiding you, and we can work with those energies to create a Medicine Shield for you, or to map out the seven directions of your destiny line in this lifetime according to the Native American Medicine Wheel. You will experience the powerful ways that life is always supporting you—literally from every direction, above, below, within, without, east, south, west, north! This can be an incredible experience when one is feeling ungrounded, like the world is falling down around you, lost or in a chaos state.

You may also begin to experience direct sychronicity with nature, receiving gifts/psychic awareness from your totem animals in dreams, signs, and literally by encountering your animal in real life. (Imagine my son's surprise when he discovered a sea lion ("see" lion) wallowing next to him in the ocean, and we had just pulled that card for him in the car on the ride to that beach!)

About your reading
You can choose whatever deck you feel most comfortable with in that moment. Or I might get a clear sense of a deck or medium that would really support you receiving a more complete gift of healing and awareness. We will always ask spirit to assist and guide us, and call in protection from guides, totems and beings of light. We will spend a few minutes in meditation and deep breathing to clear our minds and focus our intentions.

Each reading is tape recorded if you bring an un-used tape. Documentation of the reading will also be provided, and you will receive a "story" of your reading in electronic format (similar to this sample reading).

Readings can be done in your home or in her healing room in northern New Mexico.

Readings can be done for individuals, couples, groups, and families.

When is a good time to have a reading?

Have a reading done for a special birthday, anniversary, or to welcome in the New Year.

For young people—Readings are a revelatory way for young people to experience some of the positive energies surrounding themselves during major life-change years, 14, 17, 21.

For families—Families can benefit from an Animal Medicine Card reading done in a Medicine Wheel format with a guided meditation and some experiential exercises to explore a family dynamic or to learn more about each other. It is a lot of fun, and often illuminating and healing, to find out what animal medicine is present for each member of a family or group, and how they interact and support each other.

For you—I use the Tarot to map out a lifetime soul-time and personal-time chart showing significant cycles of change/transition, balance/harmony and assimilation periods in one's life. This can be critical in understanding when to move, get married, change jobs, focus on a relationship, or if intense soul work must be done.
