Thoughts: About Three

I read this today and it inspired me:

Any prayer may be heard by the Higher Powers and a corresponding answer obtained if it is uttered thrice:
Firstly—for the welfare or the peace of the souls of one's parents.
Secondly—for the welfare of one's neighbor.
And only thirdly—for oneself personally.

Why Three?

What a beautiful way to consider asking the universe to provide something for oneself! Honor thy parents. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Give and so you shall receive. These are important teachings if humanity is to SURVIVE and to evolve to new levels of being.

But besides the obvious inspiring underlying messages, I began to wonder about how the essence of 3 works to activate our highest intentions and aspirations—for others and for ourselves (IF there is truly an essential difference).

What is so magical about clicking the heels of your red slippers three times to get back home from Oz?

Why do genies grant three wishes?

Why are there only Three Stooges? Why not Four or Seven Stooges?

Why do bad events occur in threes (damn it)?

Why do spirits knock three times?

Three in the flow

Three is being in the flow! Being in the know. Being in the NOW. Being in Oneness.
Attention > Feeling > Knowing
Body > Spirit > Light (Mer-Ka-Ba)
Physical > astral > mental
Essence > Energy > Manifestation
Mind > Body > Spirit

It is the circle (eye of god, vesicae pisces) that is created when two circles, one above, one below, are overlapped somewhat in the middle as they are brought together. It connotes union, and implies the creation of a third thing when oppositional aspects are brought together. We are in a 3 dimensional reality and so all of the laws of three determine how we perceive life and our experience of this matrix of light.

Or as Jung has described, the top circle is the conscious mind, the bottom circle is the unconsciousness, and the place where they overlap is the place of synthesis where the self exists in balance and contemplates paradox with equanimity.

Three is the essence of oxymoron (an "easy labor" says the doctor!), the language of poets, it is what you see when you read invisible ink, three is the value of genuine imitation leather. It is how our eyes work! How we perceive life.

It is the message embedded in the pyramid on the dollar bill. It is magic. It is the third thing we bring into being when we invoke REAL POTENTIAL.

Two threes placed open sides together make a "figure" eight, the loop of infinity, the symbol of perpetual flow. Three overcomes duality and so embodies the essence of life, of creative power, of new growth.

There were three wise men. Good stories always have three knocks, three blows, three sisters, three blind mice, etc.

Think about three!
Feel the flow. Three is "sinfully good"! People who are deep into three thank God they are Atheists...

Three. 3:33 is a great time to ask for a miracle or feel the presence of a loved one who has passed—it provides a nexus (con-nex-tion) point through the fabric of the time/space continuum.

Four (4) is next

Pay attention to three, feel the three, use three. May the three be with you!

By the way, four (4) can be thought of as perfection/wholeness and creates a state of no-time (you don't get older), so we have a lot to look forward to—no pun intended (and 3 plus 4 is 7 (seven) which signifies HEAVEN, the number of ascension, the marriage of the etheric and the manifest represented by The Hanged Man and by Christ (3) on the Cross (4).........).

Three wishes

To get back to three: remember that genies give 3 wishes—one for your parents (it took 2 to make YOU), one for your neighbor, one for yourself! Have fun with your own thoughts and experiences with three; I am sure this only scratches the surface of threeness.

More to Consider about Three:
from "The Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean"

Tablet 14

Three is the mystery, come from the great one,
Hear, and Light on thee will dawn.
In the primeval dwell three unities,
Other than these, none can exist.
These are the equilibrium, source of creation,
One God, one Truth, one point of freedom.
Three come forth from the three of the balance:
All life, all good, all power.
Three are the qualities of God in his Light-home
Infinite Power, Infinite Wisdom, Infinite Love.
Three are the powers given to the Masters:
To transmute evil, assist good, use discrimination.

Three are the things inevitable for God to perform:
Manifest power, wisdom and love.

Three are the powers creating all things:
Divine Love possessed of perfect knowledge,
Divine Wisdom knowing all possible means,
Divine Power possessed by the joint will of
Divine Love and Wisdom.

Three are the circles (states) of existence:
The circle of Light where dwells nothing but God,
and only God can traverse it;
the circle of Chaos where all things
by nature arise from death;
the Circle of awareness where
all things spring from life.

All things animate are of three states of existence:
chaos or death, liberty in humanity and felicity of Heaven.

Three necessities control all things:
beginning in the Great Deep, the circle of chaos, plenitude in Heaven.

Three are the paths of the Soul:
Man, Liberty, Light.

Tablet 15

Hear ye now of the mystery of nature,
the relations of life to the Earth where it dwells.
Know ye, ye are threefold in nature,
physical, astral and mental in one.

Three are the qualities of each of the natures;
nine in all, as above, so below.

In the physical are these channels,
the blood which moves in vortical motion,
reacting on the heart to continue its beating.
Magnetism which moves through the nerve paths,
carrier of energies to all cells and tissues.
Akasa which flows through channels,
subtle yet physical, completing the channels.

Each of the three attuned with each other,
each affecting the life of the body.
Form they the skeletal framework through
which the subtle ether flows.
In their mastery lies the Secret of Life in the body
Relinquished only by will of the adept,
when his purpose in living is done.

Three are the natures of the Astral,
mediator is between above and below;
not of the physical, not of the Spiritual,
but able to move above and below.

Three are the natures of Mind,
carrier it of the Will of the Great One.
Arbitrator of Cause and Effect in thy life.
Thus is formed the threefold being,
directed from above by the power of four.

Above and beyond man's threefold nature
lies the realm of the Spiritual Self.
